D’oh! It’s The Simpsons’ 25th Anniversary

When you see yellow, what is the first thing you think of?

When you see a tall blue cylindrical head of hair, who is the first person you think of?

The Simpsons 25th Anniversary

Phrases like “Eat my shorts!” and “D’oh!” bring to mind the famous five-member family (starring Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa, and Maggie Simpson) of Springfield. Let me give you a brief history of the Simpsons family, starting with the man of the clan down to the youngest child.

Homer is the sole breadwinner of the family. Fat and bald, all he ever thinks about is food (mostly donuts and bacon) and Duff beer. His hobby of frying bacon in the pan, and scraping off the oil and fats to be used as gravy for the bacon is a death-defying act! He may not be the brightest star in Springfield but he loves his family to bits. He just doesn’t know how to show it, or perhaps his ways of showing it isn’t always the right way.

Marge is his cylindrical blue-haired wife whose job at home is to be housewife and Super Mom. This is because she has to care for three children of different ages with different characters and personalities! Marge is more logical than her lazy husband who often tries to find the best solution to do less work and earn more money, but there were times when she did some stupid things as well. She means well, as is the case with every mother.

Bart is the oldest and only boy in the family. He is intelligent but boys will always be boys. When it comes to tricks and mischief, Bart is the champion of both. Bart has no interest in school and is always up to no good. He has been punished many times for things he’s done but he is undeterred. He may come across as a bully for the geeky students at his school but nothing can beat the biggest bully Nelson who takes pride in harassing Bart and the other students for lunch money.

Lisa is the second child and is very intelligent. She does so well in school to the point where she gets disappointed if she doesn’t hit the highest grade. Her hobby is playing the saxophone and has always dreamt that she will one day be a great sax player. Her love for the environment and nature has often landed her in trouble with the townsfolk, probably because they couldn’t be bothered and are annoyed with her attempts in trying to get them to care. I’d say the world could do with more Lisa’s and less Homer’s.

Maggie is the youngest and ever since she was born, she always had a pacifier in her mouth and found at her mother’s hip. Despite being the baby of the family, Maggie should not be overlooked in the series. There were episodes that showed Maggie holding her own and sometimes becoming the family’s saviour! She often casts a mysterious vibe to viewers, the things she does actually raises an eyebrow or both. Otherwise, she is a passive character in the series, enjoying her day time naps and occasional romps with the family pet dog and cat.

Homer Simpson Woohoo 25 Years

Other characters include Moe the bar owner, Appu the convenient store owner, Barney, Lenny  who are all friends of Homer, the Flanders who are the Simpsons’ religious next-door neighbours, and Homer’s boss at the nuclear plant, Mr Burns. All these characters will be featured in the 25th anniversary special on Fox Channel. According to director and producer Al Jean, the Simpsons will be taking a new look in the form of Lego! Are you looking forward to it? In conjunction with The Simpsons’ 25th Anniversary, we have posters of Homer and Bart Simpson doing what they do best! 2014 World Cup Draw: Complete Group-by-Group Bracket by Bleacher Report

The 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil kicks off on 12th June with an opening ceremony and ends with a bang on 13th July. 8 groups of 4 countries per group come to a total of 32 countries vying for the coveted World Cup trophy. For a whole month, fans will enjoy pulsating high-definition matches in two extreme weather conditions (heavy rain or blistering heat). Tempers will flare, rash tackles committed to snatch the ball away from their rivals, fake injuries, penalties and free-kicks are some aspects of a football match that pepper the field as two opposing countries fight for the ball to score as many goals as possible. Football fans come together during this footie-festive month, enjoying rounds of beer and cheer, and pray that their country will come out tops.

Inspiring the world and uniting football fans alike in this year’s 2014 World Cup held in Brazil!

Did you know? …

… That the trophy for the 2014 World Cup depicts three hands reaching up and coming together to hold the World Cup trophy? Yes, it is called ‘Inspiration’, and the yellow and green colours used on the trophy are actually the colours of the Brazilian flag! Interesting notion, isn’t it?

Matches played so far have disappointed many, yet gave reason to others for happiness. People will remember the 5-1 demolition that the Dutch subjected Spain to. Manchester United fans will savour the moment when former Arsenal striker Robin van Persie took flight to head in the first goal. Who could forget Costa Rica’s victory over Uruguay? What about the sweet victories for Germany (Thomas Muller’s inspiring hat-trick), France (Karim Benzema’s hat-trick), and Argentina (Lionel Messi’s wonder goal)? Brazil’s victory over Croatia was expected as they are the hosts of the competition and it would be embarrassing if they lost in the first round. It is embarrassing enough that Spain, former World Cup title holders, suffered a huge loss in their first round match against the Dutch (and a further loss to Chile meant Spain is out of the competition!).

But that’s not all! There are still more matches to come, bringing ever more shocks and surprises to the wide screen televisions of every household. Who will go home with the title and victory? Feeling the footie vibe yet? Who do you support? Which country would you like to win? How would you feel if the country of your choice did not get the chance to lift the trophy due to a misjudged error from the linesman? It is guaranteed to anger any fan, that’s for sure.

A Warm Welcome to All Posterific Customers!

1513653_1487512368147695_4170546533004948276_nHi folks, and welcome to our Posterific blog!

Before we get down to business, allow me to introduce myself and give you a grand tour of this start-up.

Posterific began as a small start-up business selling genuine licensed posters under a large umbrella of various categories, from football to legendary singers and famous rock bands. Its main purpose is to provide the best service to customers while fulfilling the promise of selling genuine posters to all of you! Yes, you’re our customers and you all will get nothing but the best!

This business is the brainchild of Adrian. However, the idea of selling posters did not materialize overnight. Upon graduating with a business and engineering background, he secured a position in management consulting firm as an analyst in a few projects for almost two years. Sadly, the job he was in was not his cup of tea as it was mundane and prevented him from moving around easily. His focus was always on starting out on his own and running his own business. Eventually, he took a leap of faith, and left the company.

The idea to sell posters emerged when he came across his old collection of posters which he had collected throughout his university days. Eureka! The light bulb lit up but where was he going to find posters of similar quality in Kuala Lumpur? He tried unsuccessfully to find what he wanted, and when he did, somehow the quality was not the same. After many attempts, he finally found the answer he had been looking for and is now able to bridge the gap in the market by supplying a variety of genuine posters to customers.

As his poster business began to grow, he realized he needed an extra hand in maintaining certain aspects of his businesses, especially on the social media and online side. This is where I come in. My name is Sheu Quen. I’m the creative individual and photographer of the posters in our official Facebook page, as well as maintaining this blog. I saw this as an opportunity to brush up on my photography skills by dabbling in product photography and build a portfolio of photos should the need for it arise in my later years.

So, we have decided to create this blog for the purpose of keeping our customers up to date with the latest posters relative to the upcoming events that fill our lives, like the current FIFA World Cup 2014 that is taking place in Brazil, The Simpsons’ 25th Anniversary for all you Simpsons’ fans, and the big blockbuster movie that is just around the corner (coming to cinemas near you on the 26th of June!).

We hope that you can find a poster of your choice on our website, or you can drop us an email at theposterific@gmail.com with the details of the poster(s) that you want. Alternatively, you can share with us some feedback via the email address or send us a message on Facebook. Don’t be shy. We would love to know what you have to say about our posters or service. The better the service, the happier the customers!

We hope you enjoy reading the blog!
